ABOUT JCI MALAYSIA
Malaysia’s 5-Star Premier Youth Organization in Developing Leaders
*Accredited by Ministry of Youth & Sports Malaysia (KBS)
As part of the global JCI network, JCI Malaysia provides structure, training, and support to its local chapters, including JCI United Penang. It aligns national programmes with JCI’s global mission and vision, and hosts key national events such as conventions, academies, and flagship award programmes that recognise outstanding young Malaysians, entrepreneurs, and sustainable projects.
Through JCI Malaysia, members in Penang and the northern region gain access to a wider community of leaders, trainers, and opportunities nationwide.
ABOUT JCI UNITED PENANG
Largest chapter in North Malaysia
The chapter was initiated by JCI Senator Lesley Lim Yu Chin, a prominent Penang entrepreneur, together with a group of passionate young people who believed more youth should benefit from JCI’s development opportunities.
At that time, there was no JCI chapter in the northern region using Chinese as its main medium of communication. Many young people were keen to join JCI activities but faced a language barrier due to limited English proficiency.
To remove this barrier and open doors for more youth, Mr. Lim Yew Jin conceived the idea of establishing JCI United Penang as the first Chinese-medium JCI chapter in the northern region.
